The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) just announced, Tuesday February 02, 2021, that it has provided Attijari Bank Tunisia with an unfunded 50% risk-sharing guarantee on a loan to Enda Tamweel, the first microfinance institution in the country. As part of the EBRD’s risk sharing (RSF), Attijari Bank of Tunisia grants a loan of up to 20 million dinars, approximately US $ 7.4 million, to Enda Tamweel for on-lending to local MSMEs. The latter are its main customers and need financial support to cover their liquidity shortages, due to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic.
