Tribune Cedric Atangana “My message to African youth”

Ten years ago, I was sitting in your seat. My dearest wish is that 10 years from now when you are in my place, you will become shining stars in the sky for those who will be sitting where you are today and that you will accomplish 10 times more than me. To achieve this, just look regularly in the rearview mirror of your lives, pay attention to the little voice that whispers within you and let it guide you…

« Dear young people,

It is more than an honor to come back to this school on our continent and have the privilege to speak to you. It is the school where it all began; it is the school where my life changed.

Ten years ago I was sitting in your seat. I was asking myself the same questions as you, the future was uncertain and I was very worried about everything. Today, when I look in the rear view mirror of my life, I don’t see me, I see you. I see the heartaches and sorrows of heart and soul that I used to carry within me and that many of you carry with you today.

“I am not a genius; I just had the privilege of being carried here by a divine wind of an extraordinary infinite through all the people who put stones on my way, stones that I could lean on to move forward”

I am not a genius; I just had the privilege of being carried here by a divine wind of an extraordinary infinite through all the people who put stones on my way, stones that I could lean on to move forward. These people are so many that I will never be able to count them, and I have the humility to recognize that I will never have enough strength to give them back what they have given me, being as it is close to the infinite.

Therefore, to maintain the positive energy flow that I have enjoyed so far, the vibration of gratitude I have for all these people leads me to give you my most precious and dearest gift today. Therefore, I give you my health, my energy and my time. I have taken many blows along the way, but my passion for Africa and accordingly for you remains infinite. I will listen to you, I will continue to fund your projects, I will get involved in yours as long as I can, I will take you on internships, I will urge my network to help me by doing the same to pull you up, because I know that I will not be able to do it alone.

” if I could give a piece of advice to me from 10 years ago (so you), I would say “dear young person, stop worrying about tomorrow because it does not belong to us, each day will take charge of itself, just stay tuned to the voice that speaks in you, it is it that will lead you towards your destiny”

My dearest wish is that 10 years from now when you are in my place, you will become shining stars in the sky for those who will be sitting where you are today and that you will accomplish 10 times more than me. To achieve this, just look regularly in the rearview mirror of your lives, pay attention to the little voice that whispers within you and let it guide you.

Finally, if I could give a piece of advice to me from 10 years ago (so you), I would say “dear young person, stop worrying about tomorrow because it does not belong to us, each day will take charge of itself, just stay tuned to the voice that speaks in you, it is it that will lead you towards your destiny. The road is still very long, therefore, do jealously guard your heart because it is the foundation of your inner health and pay attention to your physical health because it is your greatest capital; in front of it money is not worth more than dust. Success may happen once in your life, but do know that it will not happen like this all the time. Success is the result of a process, it is the consequence produced by a will or motivation that is regularly recharged, a continuous physical and mental preparation and the advent of good timing. When the stars align (and they always will at some point), you have to be ready”.

Wishing you the best of luck »
