Health African states to increase budgets by 15% to fight HIV / AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis
African civil society organizations, meeting in Niamey on the sidelines of the 12th Extraordinary Summit of the African Union, which is being held from July 4 to 8 in Niamey, Niger, have recommended to African states to increase budgets by 15% in favor of the increased fight against HIV / AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis, in line with the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). "If nothing is done now in the direction of the huge increase in domestic investments for health, we will soon lose any real opportunity to end the epidemics, thus compromising the future of our continent. The population is growing very fast. Increasing investments must keep pace with population growth if we are to maintain current levels of health coverage, "advocated by African civil society organizations in a joint statement.
