Nigeria Eni announces investment

Eni announces that it has made a final investment decision, concerning a project to expand a factory in Nigeria, in order to increase its production of liquefied natural gas. This project will lead to additional LNG production from a new liquefaction train and will allow congestion on existing trains, making the installation (in operation since 1999) one of the most important LNG gas hubs in the world. This operation, whose new production area should start in 2024, will bring the annual production capacity to more than 30 million tonnes per year, compared to the current 22.5 million tonnes. Eni owns 10.4% of the project. The other partners are the Nigerian state oil company NNPC (49%), Shell (25.6%) and Total (15%).
