Kenya Tea exports jump 43% in September despite COVID-19 crisis

Kenya’s tea exports jumped about 43% in September, ignoring the disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic in global markets. According to a new report released Thursday by the Tea Directorate, the East African nation exported 48.7 million kilograms of tea during the month, up from 34.03 million kilograms in August. In July, the export volume stood at 38.6 million kilograms while in September 2019 Kenya had exported 37.3 million kilograms.
