Ghana Emerging Africa Infrastructure Fund grants $ 31 million loan for the construction of a liquefied natural gas regasification facility at the port of Tema

Emerging Africa Infrastructure Fund (EAIF), managed by Ninety One, will grant a loan of $ 31 million, with a maturity of 10 years, to Access LNG BV, a joint venture set up by Helios Investment Partners and Gasfin Development, and whose business is to develop and operate natural gas facilities for developing countries.

The line of credit will be used to finance the construction of a liquefied natural gas regasification facility at the port of Tema in Ghana. This is the first project of the Access LNG BV joint venture in the country. According to Martijn Proos, director at Ninety One, the EAIF’s investment will help meet Ghana’s long-term energy needs.
