Leïla Slimani, Franco-Moroccan writer, laureate of the Goncourt prize last year, was named Emmanuel Macron’s personal representative for the Francophonie. According to an official statement from the Elysee, “The President of the Republic wishes to carry an ambitious policy to promote the Francophonie”.
In her role, Ms. Slimani will raise the profile and promotion of the French language and multilingualism, as well as the values shared by members of La Francophonie.
