Ethiopia: Chinese firm signs over $ 40 million deal for hydroelectric dam project

Chinese construction and engineering company China Gezhouba Group Co. Ltd. (CGGC) has signed a contract with the Ethiopian government to participate in the Ethiopian Great Dam of the Renaissance (GERD) according to the information relayed by Ethiopian Electric Power (EEP) on February 19th.

Under a US $ 40.1 million contract, CGGC will participate in the pre-power generation activities of Ethiopia’s large hydroelectric dam, which will be considered the largest hydroelectric dam in Africa. With a total volume of 74,000 million cubic meters.
