Egypt : Resumption of relations with Turkey

Turkey and Egypt resumed diplomatic contacts for the first time since the breakdown of their relations in 2013 after the dismissal of Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi.

“Contacts at diplomatic level have begun with Egypt,” said Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Cavusoglu on 12 March, quoted by the Turkish state news agency Anadolu. Ankara has multiplied in recent weeks the appeasing statements to Cairo.
