Covid-19 IMF grants nearly $140 Million in aid for Benin and São Tomé

The International Monetary Fund approved on 21 April two new requests for financial support to African countries, one for Benin (approximately $125 million) and the other for São Tomé and Príncipe ($12 million). In both cases, the financial institution said that the aid will be provided to meet “urgent financing needs resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic”.
