“Under the National Program National Rural Electrification Program (PRONER), all localities having at least 500 inhabitants by 2020 and virtually all the localities of Côte d’Ivoire before 2025” announced, on 7 May, the Prime Minister of Côte d’Ivoire, Amadou Gon Coulibaly.
Which also recalled, as part of its social program for the less favored households, “the State has decided to lower the social tariff of electricity since 1 January 2019”.
The number of electrified localities in Côte d’Ivoire rose to 4 469 in 2017 from 2 847 in 2011, representing a growth of 55% in 2018. It is expected to reach 73% and 77% by the end of 2019 to reach 100% at, horizon 2025.
