Ivory Coast Total and Eni win four new offshore oil and gas blocks
Côte d’Ivoire announced on May 22 that it has allocated four new offshore oil and gas blocks to Total and Eni, which will divide these deposits equally.
The world’s largest producer of cocoa, Côte d’Ivoire wants to develop its long neglected oil sector.
The two oil companies will invest a total of 185 million dollars (163.3 million euros) during the exploration phase, 90 million for the French group and 95 million for its Italian competitor, said Sidi Toure.
The Ivorian national company Petroci Holding will hold 10% of each block, he added.
