Ivory Coast Laurent Gbagbo announces his return to the country

In a post published on social networks, the former Ivorian president announced his upcoming return to Côte d’Ivoire. The founder of the Ivorian Popular Front (FPI) was transferred at the end of November 2011 to the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague, where he will be tried, along with his former youth minister Charles Blé Goudé. After more than seven years of trial, Pre-Trial Chamber I delivered on January 15, 2019, the acquittal and immediate release of the two accused. But following the appeal of the prosecutor’s office, it is ultimately to conditional release that the former Ivorian president and the leader of the patriotic galaxy will be entitled to the appeal of the Court’s Appeals Chamber.
