Côte d’Ivoire: “BB-“, the best rating in its history

Côte d’Ivoire’s long-term credit rating has been upgraded from “B+” to “BB-” in a new Fitch Ratings assessment published on July 19, 2021.

This rating, the best on the continent after Morocco (rated BB+ by Fitch), moves Côte d’Ivoire from “highly speculative” to “speculative grade”. The rating is backed by a stable outlook, which reflects improved governance of public finances and a good outlook for the Ivorian economy.
