South Africa 1st African country in terms of FDI (FDI Intelligence)
South Africa is once again the leading African country in terms of the number of new projects receiving foreign direct investment, according to the new report by FDI Intelligence, a division of the UK’s Financial Times. It is followed by Egypt and Morocco. The Sherifian kingdom indeed benefits from numerous relocations, both in services and industry. In terms of capital invested, Egypt leads the way and Algeria, which received $ 9.3 billion of FDI on new projects, is second in Africa. The position of this country in the North of the continent was mainly driven by the investment of $ 6 billion, made by the Chinese company CITIC in the phosphate sector.
