Insurance ACA establishes its regional office for West Africa in Cotonou
On the sidelines of the 6th Annual Investors Roundtable, which was held on July 4, 2019, followed by the General Assembly itself on July 5, the African Trade Assurance Agency (ACA) opened the meeting. official of its regional office for West Africa on 3 July 2019 in Cotonou.
Justifying the choice of Benin to house his office for West Africa, John LENTAIGNE argues that his institution gives a mark of confidence in Benin.
As for Romuald WADAGNI, he suggested that “the opening of this Office in our country is a mark of confidence of the ACA which believes in the quality of governance of Benin, which believes in the economic prospects of our country”. He further indicated that the presence of this institution in Benin is an opportunity for the countries of the sub-region to come more quickly to the agency to be able to multiply the exchanges and quickly to treat the files.
As a reminder, the ACA is a pan-African insurer of “political” investment risks and “commercial” credit risks. As a result, ACA is helping to improve risk perception in Africa to attract more investment to the continent.
Benin is the first in West Africa to guarantee its sovereign bonds in currencies using the credit risk insurance of the agency for Commercial Insurance in Africa, attracting the first commercial financing of Banks International Benin.
ACA has already insured more than $ 1.2 million in investment risk in Benin.
