West Africa: IDA to Provide $470 Million to Promote Regional Integration and Economic Opportunities

The International Development Association (IDA) will provide $470 million to help Burkina Faso, Niger and Togo in their efforts to improve regional connectivity, security and economic opportunities along the Lomé-Ouagadougou-Niamey axis, the road corridor that links the three capitals and millions of people along its 1,065 km. The Lomé-Ouagadougou-Niamey (LON) Economic Corridor Project will foster collaboration among the three countries to improve the quality of transport services along the corridor, develop social and economic infrastructure, and build resilience to security and climate threats.
