Southern Africa: New deal between Zimbabwe, Botswana and South Africa

Zimbabwe and Botswana have signed a number of agreements aimed at strengthening relations between the two countries. The agreements were signed after a meeting between President Mnangagwa and Botswana President Mokgweetsi Masisi, who was in the country for the first Binational Commission of Zimbabwe and Botswana (BNC). The two countries have signed six memoranda of understanding covering political, social and economic fields that bring the two countries closer together.

The Minister of Industry and Trade, Nqobizitha Mangaliso Ndlovu, said: “We wanted to develop (trade) at least from four or five value chains that cross the borders of both countries … We agreed with my counterpart from Botswana that we want to organize a professional forum on the sidelines of the fair, a B2B forum (business to business) allowing the private sector to hold discussions and look for ways to work together on trade. “.
