Egypt: Banks rescue the national economy

In response to the economic difficulties faced by local businesses, the Egyptian Arab Land Bank has opened a new line of credit amounting to $170 million. These funds are mainly intended for companies specialising in the steel industry. Amr Kamal, the bank’s director, wants to help boost investment for Egyptian companies.
