The Gambia: return to the Commonwealth

Five years after leaving this institution, The Gambia comes back in the Commonwealth. In 2013, former President Yahya Jammeh had left this institution described as an “extension of colonialism” by the former gambian chief of state. Therefore, the Commonwealth is now composed of 53 states.
