Ghana: South Korea offers 9 million US $ to develop rice farming

South Korea has just allocated a financial package of US $ 9 million to Ghana to develop rice farming. According to Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto, Minister of Food and Agriculture, “this financial package will boost rice production in the central region which has important assets for this crop.” He also pointed out that rice imports increased from $ 152 million in 2007 to $ 1.2 billion in 2015.
