Senegal: Creation of a petroleum ministry to empower the sector

The initiative, part of the reshuffle following the parliamentary elections, aims to boost the national economy by upgrading the country’s oil and natural gas resources in light of recent discoveries.

At the head of this new ministry, in charge of both petroleum and renewable energies, Mansour Elimane Kane, former minister of infrastructure and land transport since 2014.
