Cocoa: Cameroon favors national processing

According to the forecasts made by government, the price of the Cameroonian cocoa’s marketing will be around 1100 CFA / kg in October. In a morose context, due to the drop in local production, in addition to the steady fall in the price of Kg and the fraudulent export of domestic production, Mr Luc Magloire Mbarga Atangana, Cameroonian Minister of trade, is focusing now on the local transformation. 40% of the national production will be transformed into chocolate, cocoa butter, etc. This will allow the players in the sector to make more profit, and to circumvent the perverse effects of the sale of beans.
